My Annual Christmas Eve Post

Everywhere, everywhere, Christmas tonight!
Christmas in lands of the fir tree and pine,
Christmas in lands of the palm tree and vine;
Christmas where snow peaks stand solemn and white,
Christmas where corn fields lie sunny and bright;
Everywhere, everywhere, Christmas tonight.

Christmas where children are hopeful and gay,
Christmas where old men are patient and gray,
Christmas where peace, like a dove in its flight,
Broods o’er brave men in the thick of the fight;
Everywhere, everywhere, Christmas tonight.

For the Christ child who comes is the Master of all
No place too great and no cottage too small;
The Angels who welcome Him sing from the height,
“In the city of David, a King in His might.”
Everywhere, everywhere, Christmas tonight.

Then let every heart keep its Christmas within
Christ’s pity for sorrow, Christ’s hatred for sin.
Christ’s care for the weakest, Christ’s courage for right,
Christ’s dread of the darkness, Christ’s love of the light.
Everywhere, everywhere, Christmas tonight.

So the stars of the midnight which compass us round
Shall see a strange glory, and hear a sweet sound,
And cry, “Look! The earth is aflame with delight,
O Sons of the morning, rejoice at the sight.”
Everywhere, everywhere, Christmas tonight.

Sad Announcement

Much to my dismay and facing the truth, I am closing down my Blueladie Designs website.  The new taxation on internet sales has forced me into this decision.  I just cannot cope with governmental rules and regulations.  I am sad because I enjoy doing this.  I will continue to make my little charts as I am able and give them away in our KYKS group.  I started that group on Yahoo in 2002 because a group I belonged to decided to close and gave its members no choice but to do without.  I do truly do this “for the love of creativity” as my banner states.  More and more things are changing beyond my control and beyond my capabilities to endure.  If you like my designs, you can have them for free in our group:  KYKS during the month they are released.  You have to join.  No approval required.  If Iris (my co-owner) or my signature are not on a note, we did not send it (website hosts send reminder of non-participation, not us).  Thank you for your support over the years.

Sincerely,
Cathryn

Another Day of Pain

Bad night and even worse morning.  Cousins from Texas have been so helpful (God bless them).  They took away DH's favorite dog and he didn't want to go (but being handicapped, I cant care for him).  Cried and cried when they drove away.  I feel like pieces of my heart are being ripped out one by one.  Living with a broken heart.

Sorry,
Cathryn

I never realized...

just how complicated it is to have a family member die.

I went to the funeral home yesterday and was there for an hour and a half signing paperwork and giving information and having to have so many documents to show correct information.  I didn't even have to do as much as you normally would because my Otey was a veteran.  They will bury him in a vets cemetery and me (when I pass) along side of him.  They also will cover 'most' (but not all) of the costs.  All you vets out there... make sure you have your discharge papers in a safe place, you (or your spouse) will need them in quite a few situations including health care.

Today, I go to see our attorney (and this is scary).  I need so much help with final preparations in his estate, etc.  I'll be glad when this part is over.

The funeral is tomorrow evening.  I chose a short service and no graveside services.  A couple of his close friends will speak.  I believe I will need several handkerchiefs.  I need one right now as I am writing this.  I also chose a closed casket because I want Otey to be remembered as he was not laying in a casket not looking like himself.  His casket has crosses on it and will be draped with the American flag.  He was very close to God and also very patriotic.  It is so him.

I am going to have to leave my home.  I'm handicapped... in a wheelchair.  I can't live here by myself.  Otey used to take me everywhere I needed to go... doctors, tests, etc.  He ran errands for me even did the grocery shopping.  Now I am wearing myself thin just trying to do the things I need to.

We'll see.  I just need to get through the rest of the week.  Then I'll start working on the big things.    :(

There's No Easy Way to Say This....

This morning my Darling Husband had a heart attack.  EMTs were called.  He went to the hospital.  They could not resuscitate him.  So he is now at peace with his loving God.

I am heartbroken.  There is a hole in my heart that will never be filled.  I've lost the love of my life and my best friend.  Life will never be the same.

Did You Know....

Sorry you missed last month's giveaway.  It was a darling design with charm and specialty floss included.  :)  You also missed the KYKS Bingo game which has already started.  I love our Bingo games.  I won last month and got a prize that I am over the moon about.  I got some fabric, floss and needle minder from Joyce last Bingo game hostess.  :)

Hope you'll join me and others in our group and my newsletter for all the fun.  We sure enjoy it.  Iris (my co-owner of the KYKS group) and I would gladly welcome new members over at the KYKS group.  :)

I am happy to....

tell you that my dear husband (DH) is home from the hospital.  He was in for 10 days from pneumonia that kept getting worse.  He is weak and has to take measures to regain his strength and has medications to take in addition to the ones he is already on.  I missed him so much and am so relieved to have him home.  While I miss my stitching so much, I need to help him out until he regains more of his strength. Hope to get back to my stitching soon and show some much needed progress.

Thank you for all your prayers and good thoughts.  They are much appreciated.  God bless you.

Happy Easter!

I hope your Easter was blessed.

The Blueladie Designs Newsletter for April is out and you can get one FREE (link at top of page).  Always a free chart in every issue.

In other news, my poor DH is still in the hospital and feeling very down.  It seems there is no end to the suffering, pain and lack of sleep and he doesn't believe that this time he is going to make it.  That makes me very sad.

Not much...

stitching going on at "Cathryn's Place".  DH is very sick.  He was at the doctor's on Friday and doc wanted him in the hospital.  He won't go.  I can't do anything anymore except gofer him.  Get this and that and the other.  He goes back to the doctor on Monday.  I hope he changes his mind about going to the hospital, but I really doubt it.  He is very depressed and dealing with quite a few health issues.  I am really not sure how all of this will end up, but I do know it's all in God's hands.  Thank you, 'Abba'.  Cause I sure can't do anything and I am comforted to know that you are in control.  Not me.

*sigh*  At least I have my newsletter for April done.  That is one thing off my mind.

The snow was beautiful today.  We have been watching it all day.  Every once in a while I would go to the back door and open it for a nice cold breath of fresh air and appreciate the beauty of it all.  I am in a wheel chair you see... disabled if you want to call it that.  But it was enjoyable nonetheless.  Just before dinner I did another trip to the back door.  So quiet, so lovely... then... 'meow'... what???  Kitty, kitty, kitty?  Penny?  (My lost for a couple of weeks tuxedo cat.)  Meow?  Kitty, kitty, kitty.... a black and white flash zooms in the back door.  There she is.  Home!  What a lovely gift.  Thank you Father.

Hope your Saturday, Sunday and all the rest of your days are blessed.

Last Night's Stitching (Fri 3/16)

LHN's Little House ABC Samplers (XYZ).
I am enjoying finishing this one.  I'm going to hang it somewhere near my stitching chair so I can look at it frequently.  :)

This is what DH and I watched yesterday afternoon.  A hungry fox who lives in a dead fallen tree trunk up the hill from us kept coming back to finish off the dog food our dogs left.  He was beautiful to watch and kept coming back until he finished the leftovers.  I took the picture through our screen door.  (No it's not warm enough.  The storm window was down too.)

Have a good weekend y'all.

Farmhouse Christmas Update

I forgot where I was in my rotation so last night I picked up Farmhouse Christmas.  This is where I am from the last time.  I did this all last night.

Space of time is because DH needed me to wait on him.  Having trouble breathing because of pneumonia.  I am hopeful that he is improving though.

Wish you could see the accurate colors on this.  I love Classic Colorworks Cherry Cobbler.  It's beautiful!  :)

Until next time,
Cathryn

XYZ update

My update from last night.  Little House Needleworks ABC House Samplers (XYZ).  I stitched some white in the lower right grass and some light brown and dark brown on the woman and the house.  Again, didn't get much done because DH isn't well.  Went to doctor's this morning and he had a CT scan and some other tests done.  We shall see what he says.

Tonight, if I can (I'm tired and DH needs someone to go-fer for him) I will work on Farmhouse Christmas.

Take care y'all.

Farmhouse Christmas farm

Well, finally, true to my word.  I started Farmhouse Christmas by Little House Needleworks last night.  I must admit I only stitched a couple of hours.  I was very tired because DH hasn't been feeling well and I am his go-fer.  I really don't mind.  I feel so sorry for him.  I am not going to use the tiny snow flakes around each chart.  Instead I am going to use them around the entire 9 series for the border.

Well, tonight back to XYZ.  Back and forth... and so on and so on and so on.  ;0)

Have a great day y'all.

XYZ Update

This is 2 nights of stitching on Little House Needlework's ABC Samplers XYZ.  Bottom 2 rows were done before I got sick.  The rest was stitched last night.  There is only 1/2 a row to go to finish the grassy area.

Tonight I will start Little House Needlework's Farmhouse Christmas and switch back and forth until XYZ is done and then concentrate on Farmhouse Christmas.

Hope y'all have a great Wednesday.  :)

Finished LHN's UVW

I finished stitching UVW from LHN's "ABC Samplers".

Now it's on to XYZ and the complete finish of this piece.  I really like it.

I am also looking forward to going on to stitch "Farmhouse Christmas" all in one as this one is.

IHSW Update

I am late in posting and I didn't accomplish as much as I wanted.  It is a common symptom of old age.  The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.  Here is my updated picture of Little House Needleworks 'ABC Sampler Houses UVW':

Finally

I was able to stitch yesterday afternoon and I finished RST of the Alphabet houses and started UVW:

I also added the word 'one' to my "Hand Over the Coffee" piece by Barbara Ana Designs:

It was a relief to be able to stitch again, especially my Little House Needleworks piece.  I want to finish that.

Much to My Regret...

Dear Friends:

For the time being until something changes, I have to suspend my giveaways.  I am unable to mail anything out for the time being.  DH is still not quite well.  Not enough to be really serious but enough to keep him inside and comfortable as he can be.

My newsletter and new designs, however, will still be posted.

Hope you are all keeping warm and stitching while in a cozy spot.

hugs & prayers,
Cathryn
